I came into the practice of law by adversity. My parents advocated for me at a young age within the Detroit Public School system, along with my team of doctors and physical therapists. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of two years old and it resulted in a medical malpractice case, in which the settlement I received as a minor was put into Probate. This was my first known experience of the law, as I had never watched Law and order or had an interest in the law as a child. This passion was truly put into my heart by God. He assigned me to people to advocate, help and bring enlightenment to others. However, my journey into law was not easy.
I had to find my way and finally passed the Bar exam on my fifth try, the number of Grace. Not to mention I experienced so much loss and death in my family around that time. I had to push through the tough times and lean on the Lord for my strength. I could not do it alone as I needed the Lord the entire time. It taught me no matter what God is always on my side and if He said it, He will do it! He wanted me to know that I was just His vessel being used, and that I could not solely take the credit.
You truly must walk by faith and not by sight. Had I continued to look at all the adversity around me and not put my focus on the Lord, I would still be stuck where I was years ago. God sees the beginning from the end as our carnal minds cannot wrap our heads around what He is doing all the time. At that time, I only saw my limitations defining me. Now as I steward the assignment God has before me, I walk in a confidence knowing that He has me, as long as I do my work unto him. That’s all that matters.

See what the Lord has done🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Amen sis!
Proud to say you’re my sister in Christ (Sharonda)
